Your first year of college is overwhelming in several different aspects. This year is a year of firsts and a year that you are able to grow and transform into a person who is capable of so many things. You might fail your first class, you might make your first dean’s list, you might decide to join Greek life, and you will definitely decide to become a part of different student organizations. The question is, which one? The answer is, the Mountaineer Maniacs.
Going to a Mountaineer football game is unlike anything else. Looking around at your fellow classmates, the past and of course the future Mountaineers brings a sense of belonging to each and every one of us. At this exact moment you realize that you are now a part of something bigger than yourself. Our student section is one of the best in the nation. From cheering at kickoff to singing “Country Roads” at the end of the game, you’ll never want to miss a game.
What triumphs all is the moment you witness a game-winning touchdown and hug the stranger standing next to you, or when you get to rush the court after an upset inside the Coliseum. Those are the moments that will make you proud to be a Mountaineer Maniac.
Being the largest student organization on campus, there are so many reasons why you should become a Maniac. From the sporting events, to meeting new friends at a soccer tailgate, you are able to make your college experience the best when you put yourself out there. If you get the opportunity to go on a Maniacs away trip, you will see the pride in our fans from all over the country. There’s nothing like heading into enemy territory wearing your blue and gold, and leaving the stadium with a Mountaineer win you’ll never forget.
The Mountaineer Maniacs take pride in supporting all WVU sports and they give the students an incredible opportunity to experience everything from football to soccer to volleyball and everything in between.
